AMD PHMB Packing Strips - 2.51cm x 0.91.4m (1 inch) 10/Box

Type of Product: Antimicrobial gauze dressings impregnated with 0.2% PHMB; ionically attracts bacteria into the dressing. 

Use: For wounds with signs and symptoms of local wound infection. May be used prophylactically to prevent infection in clients at high risk for developing a wound infection. 

Frequency of Dressing Change: 

Change at least every 3 days (as the PHMB remains effective), depending upon the amount of exudate. 

Note: To apply, cut to size of wound ensuring to leave a tail outside of wound. Apply dry, if wound bed is dry moisten the packing with normal saline.

Caution:

If using a hypochlorous wound cleanser, wound must be rinsed with normal saline before applying AMD packing strip. 

Do not use with Dakin’s Solution or bleach solutions as these solutions will deactivate Antimicrobial: Polyhexamethylene Biquanide (PHMB).

Do not use with ointments, creams, powders, sprays, or petrolatum-based dressings
